DIY »Checkerboard Tablecloth«

Material:

  • tablecloth (preferably made of cotton or linen, old fabrics are also suitbale here)
  • angular sponge
  • cutter
  • ruler
  • pencil
  • fabric paint in black & white
  • paint brush
  • flat iron
  • protective sheet

Instructions:

  1. Measure the sponge and mark checkerboard lines.
  2. Carefully cut the sponge with the cutter to create a checkerboard pattern.
  3. Lay the cloth out flat with a protective sheet underneath.
  4. Mix your desired colour and use the sponge as a stamp. If necessary mix the paint with a little water so that it becomes more liquid. The sponge absorbs a lot of liquid.
  5. Carefully stamp the cloth, gently press the sponge onto the fabrc.
  6. Allow to dry and iron for 2-3 minutes so that the fabric paint holds well.
